University Center-Rapid City

Wyss Associates, Inc. worked through several master planning options and assisted with the final site layout for the newest addition to South Dakota’s secondary education opportunities. The landscape design effort was two-fold:

• To create a welcoming atmosphere to the new building
• To be LEED compliant

The parking lot is drip irrigated and is full of native grasses and flowers that accent the edges, while the areas around the building create niche-like garden areas for the students to step outside and enjoy.

Construction is underway and University Center-Rapid City is expected to be open in the spring of 2011.
